TogglePassengers flying out of Dubai International (DXB) could face some sort of disruptions after the cancellation of multiple flights in the region. But things are gradually getting back to normal as multiple airlines resume operations.
flydubai resumed operations to Damascus – the capital of Syria – from June 26, 2025. Flights to the city are going to operate on a daily basis from Terminal 2, DXB. This decision comes as more airspace in the Middle East reopens and restrictions are lifted.
The Dubai-based carrier plans to resume its full schedule from July 1, after the completion of all necessary assessments. flydubai continues to monitor the situation closely and is adjusting its flight schedule accordingly.

Dubai airports resume operations after “precautionary pause”

The UAE airspace temporarily closed on June 23. The next day, authorities released a notice about the disruptions, asking passengers to contact their airline for the latest updates before heading to the airport, especially for guests flying from Dubai to India.
Dubai Media Office took to X just before June 24 to announce that Dubai airports had resumed full operations after a “temporary precautionary pause”. DXB-based Emirates and flydubai airlines cancelled a number of flights after the closure of airspace in the region.

Emirates routes to Iran and Iraq remain cancelled up to and including June 30. flydubai has also suspended flights but is planning to resume fully soon. Passengers are requested to contact their airlines for updates and rebooking options before heading to the airport.
flydubai resumes Dubai to Damascus flights after 12 years
On May 21, 2025, flydubai announced the start of direct flights to Damascus from June 1, resuming flights after 12 years of halted operations. Flights to the Syrian capital from Dubai run daily from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB).
