Etihad and Ethiopian – the national airlines of the UAE and Ethiopia – recently announced a partnership in a landmark Joint Venture (JV) that is expected to significantly transform the flying experience for passengers in the broader region.

Signed on March 19 at Ethiopian headquarters, this strategic partnership is designed to bring more benefits to passengers in both countries, resulting in a more seamless experience for all. The airlines are also introducing more flights as part of the collaboration.

Etihad-Ethiopian partnership introduces more flights

Etihad took to its official social media platform on March 19 to announce that the airline is starting daily flights to the capital of Ethiopia on October 1. Passengers can expect a complete blend of ancient history and breathtaking landscapes.

Ethiopian is also planning to begin flights from Addis Ababa Bole International airport to Zayed International airport on July 15. Subject to regulatory confirmation, the aforementioned Joint Venture is going to enable both airlines to collaborate in expanding routes.

The partnership is aimed at offering customers of both airlines seamless access to a long list of destinations. It also enables deeper discussions on further collaboration, including frequent flyer programmes, training and cargo.
