The UAE is gradually becoming an increasingly accessible destination for people in different parts of India as more flights are launched along under-served routes. For instance, IndiGo is starting direct Vishakapatnam-Abu Dhabi flights this month.
Currently, you can find direct IndiGo flights to Abu Dhabi from cities like Mumbai, Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru. From June 13, the airline is planning to start direct flights to the UAE capital from Vishakapatnam.
But there is an important update for those in Bhubaneswar. IndiGo is launching direct flights to Abu Dhabi from the capital of Odisha, in the eastern part of the country, this month. This flight is expected to significantly strengthen tourism and trade.
Direct Bhubaneswar-Abu Dhabi flights from June 2025
The Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) recently announced the planned launch of Bhubaneswar-Abu Dhabi direct flights from June 2025 under the B-MAAN initiative. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the support.
Through this announcement, the capital of Odisha is expected to be connected to five international destinations, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore and Bangkok in Thailand.
The direct flights are scheduled to run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, making another Emirate accessible for the people of Odisha. The launch is expected to happen this month but the exact date of commencement is yet to be declared.
Direct IndiGo Bhubaneswar-Dubai flights
Currently, there is one direct flight operating from the capital of Odisha to Dubai. This flight departs BBS Terminal 2 at 6:30 pm and lands in DXB Terminal 1 at 9:45 pm. The return journey starts at 11:25 am and concludes at 5:30 pm on the same day.
This is an incredibly popular route, letting more Indians explore the incredible tourism offerings of Dubai. You can catch a glimpse of Burj Khalifa, go on a much-needed shopping spree at The Dubai Mall and try out delicacies at different restaurants across the Emirate.

IndiGo connects to Fujairah in a flash

IndiGo is also running direct flights from Mumbai in Maharashtra and Kannur in Kerala to Fujairah in the UAE. Since last month, Fujairah has been the fifth UAE destination on the airline’s list, besides Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
Passengers on these daily flights to Fujairah are able to put to use the dedicated bus options to and from Dubai and Sharjah. The route can open more opportunities for tourism, catering to the different needs of passengers.
