It has been rightfully said that Al Rams Beach and Saraya Island are the juxtapositions of the modern metropolis of Dubai. The place is breathtaking as majestic mountains as old as 70 million years reflect in the not-that-deep waters of the sea.

If Al Rams Beach in Ras Al Khaimah is not suitable for Instagram, then nothing else is. Imagine fleets of age-old pearl and fishing boats taking to the scenic sea to gather their catch. It is also the ideal location to pitch a tent and get a near Robinson Crusoe experience.

Historically, Al Rams used to be home to the Tanaij tribe. Nothing much has changed and many of the original homes are still standing. The land is also home to thousands of protected date palms. Experience serenity at its best in Ras Al Khaimah.

Pink Lake Ras Al Khaimah: Unique experiences

On rare occasions, a pink lake starts to appear on the shores of the sea. This phenomenon is called sabkha, a coastal sandflat that sees saline minerals accumulating. The lake’s salinity is much higher, causing red algae to feed on the magnesium-rich nutrients.

But this bloom does not last for a long time. It ceases to exist as the algae finish consuming all of the nutrients and die off, or the tide rises. Ras Al Khaimah is full of unique experiences and beautiful picture-perfect spots.

Ras Al Khaimah is also incredibly popular among solo tourists. This northern Emirate has gorgeous mountains, serene beaches and other natural surroundings. The crime rate is immensely less, the place is accessible and the local people are friendly.
