ToggleGot your eyes on a Europe trip this summer? Sounds beautiful. Though summer temperatures in Europe made some serious headlines recently, things have quite cooled since and you can conveniently plan your trip. Each year, thousands of people travel to Europe from the UAE, either as connecting passengers, for business purposes or as tourists. If you are also planning something similar this July or in the near future, please go ahead. But do not skip the latest travel alert issued for UAE passport holders.
The UAE Foreign Ministry’s app has updated its visa and entry requirements section for multiple European countries, such as Austria, France, Georgia, the UK, Spain and Italy. These six nations are extremely popular as tourist destinations, get a lot of attention from travellers from across the globe, and provide splendid services, too. But it seems high theft rates are putting a lot of pressure on these countries. For this reason, UAE nationals planning to travel to any of these European countries are recommended to stay cautious at all times.

Latest Europe Travel Alert for UAE Nationals
If any UAE national is planning to travel to Austria, France, Georgia, Italy, Spain or the UK this summer, it is immensely important to pay heed to the latest alert. The Emirati Foreign Ministry has raised concerns over a ‘high rate of exposure of citizens to theft’. For this reason, UAE passport holders are asked to stay cautious and avoid putting on valuable and rare belongings. Plus, it is necessary for Emiratis to keep their official documents in safe places at the residence and contact accredited companies only at the time of booking cars and hotels to avoid cases of fraud and scams. Therefore, please remain more cautious than you generally are on your trips and inform the UAE Embassy and local authorities in case of any emergencies.
General Travel Guidelines for UAE Nationals Planning to Travel to Europe
Just recently, temperatures in Europe soared dramatically. Paris, Vienna, Rome, London and many other popular tourist destinations in Europe noted chaotic situations. But things have since gotten better. But it is definitely recommended at all times to stay hydrated, carry plenty of electrolytes on you, and take general precautions – since summer is far from over. Though most UAE nationals definitely understand the ‘summer heat’, taking the necessary precautions on your European vacation this season is definitely recommended.
Next, UAE passport holders do not need a visa to travel to the European Union (EU). They can stay in the territory for 90 days in a 180-day period. But there are some general travel guidelines to take into consideration for a more seamless journey.
1. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) has been in operation for quite some time. You can use our detailed guide on it to understand the system better and glide through it like a true professional. The first time usually takes the longest.
2. Upon your first entry at any border checkpoint, you need to provide your passport and biometric data. This is for travellers aged 12 and above and seeking entry to Austria, France and other countries across the European Union.
3. Your passport needs to be valid for at least six months.
4. You need to carry a copy of your passport or ID card at all times.
5. Please make sure that you have all the documents and funds necessary for travelling.
6. Please sign up for the UAE Tajudi service beforehand. This simple step is going to help you keep your country in the loop about your international trip and contact them in case of any emergencies. Do not miss this.
7. Please understand all necessary health procedures before jetting off to your intended destination.
8. UAE nationals planning to travel to the UK need an Electronic Visa eTA for entry. If you are coming for tourism, you can stay for up to six consecutive months or through multiple visits in about one year. But if you already hold a valid UK visa for the purpose of visiting, studying or more, there is no need for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
