One&Only One Za’abeel: Introducing The Link
Nothing less than an iconic: One&Only One Za’abeel is housed in a stunning dual tower building. Nikken Sekkei architects did a splendid job at the design. The modern and contemporary resort interiors are by Belgian architect and designer Jean-Michel Gathy.
Dramatically connecting both buildings is The Link, a boulevard floating 100 metres above the street level. It gathers some of the most sought-after chefs, masterful mixologists and the UAE’s longest suspended infinity pool, The Link is an architectural marvel.
The Link is a culinary hub suspended in the air. This ‘longest cantilever globally’ boasts at least 9 dining concepts, presenting a range of cuisines from authentic Thai food to French fine dining. It adds to Dubai’s rich culinary scene.
One&Only One Za’abeel: Design and architecture
One&Only’s debut urban resort can be a sole bucket list destination in Dubai. One Za’abeel reflects the pioneering vision of its creators, said Fadi Jabri, CEO of Nikken Sekkei Dubai. The project epitomises the concept of ‘vertical urbanity’,” he added.
Depending on the viewing angle, the facade’s dotted exterior fins create different expressions. That’s interesting, right? The Japanese architectural technique of emphasizing a sense of depth has been leveraged to present a distinct surface airiness.
One&Only One Za’abeel features minimal spaces, natural colours and thoughtfully selected materials. Jean-Michel Gathy found his inspiration from the desertscape. You can find this oasis-like space as a retreat for ultimate relaxation.
