From the moment Louvre Abu Dhabi, one of the premier cultural institutions in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District on Saadiyat Island, opened its doors, the UAE’s art scene got elevated to a global scale.

There are 9,200 sq meters of displays at Louvre Abu Dhabi, including permanent and temporary galleries. There are a number of Express Tours too, offering an opportunity to explore the highlights of the museum’s collection in less time.

Louvre Abu Dhabi celebrates International Museum Day

Plan a trip to Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island to celebrate International Museum Day on May 18 (Sunday). UAE residents can enter the museum for free. They just need to present a valid UAE ID at the ticket desk.

The galleries, exhibitions and boutique are going to stay open until 8:30 pm. The dome and restaurants open much longer. Because of the anticipated high number of entries on the special occasion, Louvre Abu Dhabi has released a set of suggestions.

Since Louvre Abu Dhabi is one of the most popular museums in the country, you can expect large numbers of visitors on International Museum Day. Plus, the Sunday scene also adds to the expected surge in footfall.

It is recommended to book tickets online in advance to skip long queues at the museum. This admission ticket grants you access to the galleries, exhibitions, outdoor plazas underneath the iconic dome, museum cafe, Fouquet’s Abu Dhabi and boutique.

For UAE residents, admission tickets on May 18 are FREE. But make sure to bring your valid UAE ID to the ticket desk. On general days, the admission ticket for adults comes around Dh65. It is free for under 18 years old, People of Determination and more.

Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island: Getting There
