Prominent Dutch airline KLM has just announced the cancellation of all Dubai flights until at least 17 May 2026. This comes as the Middle East crisis continues to bring a lot of airspace disruptions and both regional and international carriers delay or cancel flights to prioritise the safety of their passengers and staff.
Nonetheless, flights to and from Dubai are not the only ones impacted by KLM’s recent cancellation announcement. The airline has also cancelled all flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam – both in the neighbouring GCC state of Saudi Arabia. This update from 19 March 2026 comes after a similar one on 12 March that notified all KLM passengers that the airline is cancelling all flights to the Saudi cities through 28 March.
To all the passengers impacted by the cancellation of KLM Dubai flights, you are going to be notified personally. Therefore, make sure that your contact details are up to date. The same goes for passengers initially to board flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam. You have a couple of options at this stage: change your flight or ask for a refund. Let’s get a better understanding of the KLM refund policy as Middle East flight cancellations continue.

KLM Refund Policy for Tourists Stranded by Dubai Flights Cancellations
If your KLM flight to and from Dubai has been delayed or cancelled, you can request for a cash refund, compensation or reimbursement. Let’s understand the refund policy for all passengers currently impacted by the cancellation of Middle East flights (including Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam). Take a look.
1. To request a cash refund for your cancelled KLM flight, use the airline’s online refund system. This system is first going to confirm if you are eligible for a full cash refund or only part of it.
2. The processing time for your request is usually from 14-30 days.
3. Please keep in mind that once you request a refund, all flights in your booking are going to be cancelled.
4. If your flight is scheduled in the future, apply for a refund on time. This is going to prevent any delay in the boarding process for other passengers.
5. You cannot use the KLM online refund system if you booked your flight through a travel agent.

KLM has cancelled all Dubai flights until at least 17 May 2026, besides flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia. These flight cancellations have become quite rampant these days. But please do not be alarmed. These measures are being put in place to ensure your safety and security. Therefore, please do not go to any airport in the UAE unless you have a confirmed booking on any of the limited flights currently in operation or you have been directly notified by your airline itself. Last but not least, you are not alone in this.
