Emirates Update: In 2025, people in the UAE started celebrating Ramadan right from March 1. Eid al Fitr comes after Ramadan but the exact dates cannot be confirmed until right before the end of the holy month. The dates are decided on the basis of moon sightings.
Still, some predictions can be made. Eid al Fitr marks the first major UAE public holiday 2025. If Ramadan in Dubai turns into a 29-day month, people can celebrate Eid starting March 30 (Sunday). But if Ramadan stretches to 30 days, Eid falls on March 31 (Monday).
Emirates anticipating busier period as Eid al Fitr 2025 nears
Eid al Fitr is easily one of the busiest periods for the tourism industry. Emirates – one of the largest international airlines – is anticipating a busier period ahead of and during the upcoming Eid al Fitr holiday.
The busiest time for departures in Terminal 3 is expected to be on March 28 and 29, and on 5 and 6. There is a possibility of more than 80,000 daily customers going abroad for their spring break holidays, the airline noted in a press release.
Expecting more traffic congestion around Terminal 3 entrances, Emirates is urging its passengers departing from Dubai to build in extra time for their journeys. People should reach the airport up to 3 hours before their flight.
Emirates update for passengers ahead of Eid al Fitr 2025
In its recent press release, Emirates urged customers to clear passport control and security 90 minutes before departure and reach their gate no later than 60 minutes before their flight if booked in Economy or Premium Economy Class.
Passengers in First or Business Class are recommended to reach their gate no later than 45 minutes before departure. Boarding gates are going to close 20 minutes before departure. Passengers reporting late are likely to not be permitted to board their flights.
Emirates customers can drop off their baggage at the airport the night before departure at no extra expense or check in early and drop off their luggage 24 hours before departure (or 12 hours for people flying to the US).
Time to make the most of Emirates check-in options
For a timely and seamless experience, Emirates is offering its customers a broad range of check-in options, including:
1. Online check-in on emirates.com or the Emirates mobile application open 48 hours before their departure
2. Emirates City Check in and Travel Book Store in ICD Brookfield Place from 24 hours up to 4 hours before the time of departure. But this option is not accessible for Emirates passengers flying to the US.
3. Home check-in option from residence or hotel
4. Check-in kiosks and baggage drop facilities in Terminal 3
5. Mobile check-in ports located throughout Terminal 3
