Be it the sizzling summer season or the cooler months of December to February, Dubai is a fabulous tourist destination around the clock. There are plenty of interesting things to do here and Burj Khalifa plays the backdrop for a huge number of these options.

The spectacular Dubai Fountain, also using the tallest building on the planet as its backdrop, closed earlier this year as major upgrades are being carried out. This iconic performing fountain is one of the most recognizable attractions in Dubai.

But there is an update. In a recent post by Emaar on its official Instagram account, the company replied to a comment asking about the reopening date. This article has all the details about the highly anticipated reopening and other things to do before the comeback.

Dubai Fountain reopening date announced

“Kindly be informed that the Dubai fountain is expected to be fully operational by 1 October 2025,” Emaar Dubai replied to a comment on one of its recent reels. This announcement is making global headlines and for all the right reasons.

The popular performing fountain is going to remain closed for at least 3 to 4 months as some major upgrades are being carried out. The first stage of the makeover included the closing of the attraction and removal of the 30 acres of water from the Burj Lake.

Engineers are putting substantial effort around the clock to complete the upgrades on time. The sensational area – considered one of the most popular among international tourists and residents alike – looks completely different.

The comeback is going to be majestic. Let’s be patient.

The huge artificial Burj Khalifa Lake seated on the periphery of beautiful buildings has been playing host to the Dubai Fountain for a long time. But in addition to the choreographed fountain system, people also like the boating opportunities there.

The Burj Lake area also offers a peaceful atmosphere and a lot of photographic opportunities, especially during sunset and the fountain’s operational hours. You can also find a lot of dining options and memorable glimpses of the futuristic city of Dubai.

These are the things to expect from Dubai Fountain after it reopens

From the recent social media post, it is understood that the old floor at the Dubai Fountain often cracked. But the upgraded shiny concrete flooring is going to play the role of a better insulator and last longer and ensure better performances.

The upgrades shall continue till the end of September. The Dubai Water Fountain reopening is expected on October 1 could bring us a better use of modern technology, enhanced choreography and a better sound and lighting system.

The lake area is said to be as big as 18 football pitches. Isn’t it incredible? Upon being asked, an engineer explained that the programming for each song takes a lot of days and effort. This explains the charismatic performances.

During the choreographed fountain performances, the Dubai Fountain used to spray up to 22,000 gallons of water as high as 140 meters in the air at any one time. The accompanied lights and music add to the experience.

But as the maintenance is happening, Emaar has installed state-of-the-art digital screens across the promenade. The screens feature engaging content and the intention is to keep the promenade busy as the upgrades are being carried out.

Emaar extends rent relief to F&B tenants at Dubai Mall and Souk al Bahar

You can find thousands of guests at restaurants in the area surrounding the Dubai Fountain. These spaces offer incredible glimpses of the performances against the backdrop of Burj Khalifa. But there is an expected decline in footfall because of the maintenance.

In this regard, Emaar has announced a dedicated rent support for F&B tenants featuring terrace spaces facing the Burj Lake and Dubai Fountain areas at the Dubai Mall and Souk al Bahar. This benefit is extended for four months.

The Lake and Fountain-facing terraces have long been appreciated for their ambience, offering guests beautiful glimpses of some of the top attractions in Dubai. Emaar’s gesture brings into focus these establishments’ role in attracting diners and enhancing the experience.
