Been to the butterfly garden in Dubai? Well, now get ready to enjoy this most-loved attraction in the capital city of Abu Dhabi. A favourite family spot among residents and tourists, Dubai’s butterfly garden garnered much love and will soon have yet another address in Abu Dhabi.
Back in 2023, the park made an announcement that work was underway, but now we have the date on hand. Abu Dhabi’s butterfly garden is set to open in September 2025.
Located in Al Qana, right next to The National Aquarium, the garden will be home to more than 10,000 butterfly species in an environment complete with stunning flora and fauna. The garden is split into three zones- Asia, the Americas and Eden Café, giving guests a joyful journey through the ecosystems inspired by the respective regions.
This is also the first immersive butterfly garden in the region, so visitors can expect a lot more. The visually stunning addition to the capital will appeal to nature lovers, families, and anyone who enjoys and values natural beauty, as the climate-controlled facility is home to over 10,000 butterflies in addition to interactive exhibits and captivating animal encounters.
Unique Features Of The Park
In order to replicate a variety of ecosystems from around the globe, Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi will also include lush tropical landscapes enclosed within climate-controlled bio-domes. The facility will be separated into two zones, Asia and the Americas, each of which will highlight species that are indigenous to that region, as we previously stated.
Asia’s dome will house bearcats, koi carp, and a variety of Asian insects, while America’s dome will feature butterflies, two-toed sloths, caiman crocodiles, and American insects.
That’s not all! Visitors will also have the opportunity to see these delicate creatures up close during butterfly feeding sessions. Watching them feed on nectar and fruits is a fascinating experience that provides special insights into their habits and behavior.
Once you’re done marveling at the umpteen butterflies around you, head to Eden Café- a hidden café that will let you refuel. Apart from offering lip-smacking munchies, the café also features a waterfall, a serene koi pond, and white peacocks- so you can be sure to enjoy hi-tea in style!
The Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi provides a distinctive fusion of education, entertainment, and scenic beauty with the goal of inspiring and encouraging conservation. It invites families, students, and nature lovers to experience a thriving ecosystem up close as the capital’s first immersive butterfly paradise.
So, mark your calendars and plan a trip here this September!
