The first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the massive Mena region has recently introduced a City Check-in facility in Dubai, bringing the total number of such facilities in the UAE to 12. The facility is located at City Centre Al Shindagha in the Al Fahidi area.
The latest service assures the convenience of travel before passengers get to the airport. It lets customers drop off their bags and get their boarding passes 24 hours before their booked flights and up to 8 hours before the scheduled departure time when planning to Travel to Dubai.
City Check-in facilities offer greater convenience and flexibility. The Dubai facility is also expected to include a convenient bus service linking it to Sharjah International Airport, which will start operating soon, according to an Air Arabia press release on March 11.
Insights into Air Arabia City Check-in facility in Dubai
The latest centre operates every day from 10 am to 10 pm, allowing customers to purchase extra baggage allowance, adjust their flight plans or select preferred seats. It is intended to streamline the pre-flight procedure, save time and take care of long airport waits.
Customers flying from Sharjah International Airport can visit any of the City Check-in facilities in Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman. Passengers boarding flights from Zayed International Airport can visit the facility in the capital Abu Dhabi.
Air Arabia continues to provide impeccable customer service and offerings to its passengers. The introduction of the Dubai facility highlights the prominent airline’s commitment to ensuring affordable and value-added solutions to meet travellers’ evolving demands.
More than just better customer service
Providing the City Check-in facility definitely helps Air Arabia steal a march over its competitors in terms of customer service. But the move also likely allows cost saving by processing passengers off-airport, rather than paying a handling agent to provide such services.
The LCC operates a fleet of 45 Airbus A320 family aircraft, comprising 36 A320s, 3 A321s and 6 A321NX(LR). It also has 73 A320neos on order, besides 27 A321NX plus 20 A321NY(LR) aircraft. Moreover, its Abu Dhabi-based subsidiary controls 10 A320s.
In the current scenario, Air Arabia has multiple City Check-in facilities spread across Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai. The centres facilitate swift check-in of luggage and boarding pass collection, substantially cutting pre-flight procedures’ duration.

What makes you a good journalist? Hopefully, I can find a convincing answer to it someday. From Btech in Civil Engineering to pursuing Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication, it has been quite a journey. I have a keen interest in investigative journalism and exploring the latest developments in the Gulf region.
I care about ethical reporting and bringing something new to the table. Overall, if not a writer, I believe I would have been a globetrotter or a pet-sitter.
