ToggleDubai’s First AI-Powered MediterrAsian Restaurant at Kempinski Central Avenue
Zenon is Dubai’s first AI-powered dining experience, a restaurant unlike anything else in the city, tucked inside the Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard at ground level in Downtown Dubai. Inspired by Greek mythology and built at the intersection of advanced technology and exquisite gastronomy, Zenon has earned awards for Best Use of Art in an F&B Project, Best Interior Design, Best Digital Transformation in Hospitality, and Best Fine Dining Mediterranean Restaurant since opening, and has been reviewed by Time Out Dubai as one of the most memorable dining experiences in the city. It is the kind of restaurant that guests describe not as a meal but as an event, and the combination of immersive AI visuals, mythological storytelling, and seriously good food makes it one of the most singular dining addresses in Downtown Dubai.
Restaurant Features and Dining Experience
Walking into Zenon is immediately disorienting in the best possible way. The entire restaurant is wrapped in state-of-the-art AI screens covering every surface, floor to ceiling, projecting an ever-changing programme of immersive digital art including rippling waterfalls cascading down the walls, futuristic cityscapes with driverless cars floating across the ceiling, and galloping wild horses dashing past the doors. Motion sensors placed throughout the space mean that guests become an active part of the art, with movements mirrored on the surrounding screens throughout the evening. The main dining area is vibrant and deliberately opulent, with plush seating in bold shades of orange, yellow, teal, and blue, intricate patterned tiles underfoot, and towering ceilings that give the space a sense of theatre.
The restaurant is set across two floors, with the ground floor housing the main dining area, an extensive bar lounge, and an Omakase bar where guests can watch the chef prepare cuts tableside. The upper floor offers a variety of seating options from intimate spaces with pink mirrors and miniature Greek sculptures to a second bar lounge and a VIP area with views down to the ground floor bar and DJ booth, where holographic projections of Greek mythological entities appear throughout the evening. Hermès plates and cutlery are used throughout the restaurant, with a retro car filled with Hermès signature orange bags serving as one of the most photographed design features in the space. An outdoor dining terrace is also available for those who prefer open-air seating during the cooler months. The music is lively and groovy, building through the evening as a resident DJ takes over later in the night.
The culinary concept at Zenon is best described as MediterrAsian fusion, a marriage of Mediterranean and Asian cuisines rooted in the flavours of Greek mythology and Olympian excess, but brought together through genuinely skilled cooking rather than gimmick. The menu is extensive and covers the full breadth of what contemporary Dubai fine dining expects, with burrata, lobster pasta, maki rolls, wagyu steaks, beef tartare, truffle risotto, and caviar all present. Standout dishes consistently praised by diners include the slow-cooked lamb shoulder, the beef tataki, and a Greek salad that guests repeatedly single out as a must-order, alongside beautifully executed sushi.
The Omakase bar adds a chef’s counter tasting dimension for guests who want a more focused, narrative dining experience. The signature Mythos Culinary Journey is a curated three-course set menu that blends Mediterranean gastronomy with Zenon’s technological environment, designed specifically as an early evening ritual experience, ideal for those arriving at golden hour. The restaurant is equally strong on vegetarian and vegan options. The beverage programme is comprehensive, covering an extensive cocktail list, wines, spirits, mocktails, and a full bar that operates through the night, ensuring the experience can continue as a lounge and nightlife destination long after the dinner service ends.
Zenon is open for lunch from 12pm, serving as an ideal stop for business lunches and breaks from the adjacent Dubai Mall, and for dinner and late-night dining through the evening. Reservations are recommended, particularly for window tables and weekend evenings. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, offers outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, valet parking at the Kempinski, and accepts online bookings. The space is available for private events including corporate dinners, gala evenings, networking events, team building, and private celebrations, with an experienced events team on hand. Dress code is smart casual. Average spend per person is approximately AED 300 to AED 500.
Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall are a short walk away through the air-conditioned mall walkway, and the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall Metro Station on the Red Line is also within easy walking distance. Dubai Fountain is approximately 5 minutes on foot. Dubai Opera is 5 minutes away. Souk Al Bahar is 3 minutes away. DIFC is approximately 10 minutes by car, and Dubai International Airport is 20 minutes.
