If you’re visiting Dubai anytime soon, here’s something you must know. Getting around the city by the metro is the best thing you’ll experience when here. But, here’s an update you must know. A major Dubai Metro Station Renamed recently, so take note!
Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) recently renamed the UAE Exchange Metro Station as Life Pharmacy Metro Station. The move comes after RTA signed a 10-year agreement with Life Pharmacy.
The UAE Exchange Metro Station is located on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Jebel Ali. Initially, the station was named Jebel Ali Metro Station in March 2011, after which yet another renaming happened on June 30, 2015, naming it UAE Exchange. Now, an agreement with Life Pharmacy has given it yet another new identity.
The operational configuration implemented by the RTA in April 2024, removed the need for metro passengers to interchange at Jebel Ali Station thanks to. The Y junction now allows trains to run directly between Centrepoint and Expo 2020 stations and between Centrepoint and UAE Exchange.
The Dubai RTA is set to update and rename all pertinent internal and external directional signage at Metro stations, until the end of August. The statement said that RTA’s smart digital systems, public transportation applications, and onboard audio announcements before and upon arrival at the station will also reflect the new name.
This is the third time in two months the RTA has announced the renaming of a Dubai Metro station. The Al Khail Metro Station was renamed Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station on March 18. Earlier this month, on April 11, GGICO Metro Station was renamed Al Metro Garhoud Station.
