Looking for a peaceful getaway in the heart of Abu Dhabi, away from the concrete jungle? Jubail Mangrove Park is precisely the destination you didn’t know you needed. Nestled on Al Jubail Island, this oasis of green is a lungs-freshener — literally — surrounded by the calm, winding waterways and dense mangrove foliage that make it the perfect day trip or morning outing.
Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast, a family seeking a relaxing day out, or simply someone who enjoys tremendous scenery, this attraction has it all. Here’s all you need to know in order to have a good, memorable trip!
So, what is Jubail Mangrove Park all about?
Think of it as Abu Dhabi’s answer to nature therapy. This isn’t your typical landscaped park with trimmed lawns and flower beds. Instead, Jubail Mangrove Park is a protected space where nature takes the lead — and you get to be a quiet observer.
The park is home to the region’s unique mangrove forests, shielding the coastline from erosion, acting as natural water filters, and creating a safe haven for all kinds of wildlife.
A stroll through the park and you’ll find winding boardwalks that lead you right through the middle of this rich ecosystem.
Why are mangroves important?
Mangroves might be a bit rough around the edges compared to your average garden plant, but they’re ecological treasure. They provide a home for birds, fish, crabs, and many small creatures that consider the mangroves home. The reward? A healthy, diverse ecosystem that is absolutely critical to keeping the coast alive and active.
Features Of The Park
Jubail Mangrove Park aims to offer its visitors an experience in nature with sensitization on the ecological significance of mangroves. The park has more than 2.5 kilometers of wooden boardwalks that snake through the mangroves and provide spectacular views and photographic opportunities.
These paths are accessible to tourists of all ages, so it’s extremely convenient for families to come into the park with children. Among the main attractions of Jubail Mangrove Park is its observation towers, providing bird’s eye views of the mangrove forest and water around it. These towers are ideal for bird-watching, where tourists can see various species of birds amidst their natural habitat. The park also has informative signs along the trails that give information about the plants and animals in the area, including mangroves’ ecological functions.
Activities At The Park
While entry to the park will cost you AED15, and might include a few activities, you will have to pay separately for a few others. Here’s a detailed look.

The quiet motor on this boat lets you totally be in touch with nature sounds—chirping birds, leaves blowing in the wind, and the soft splash of water.

There is a guide who drops little facts about the local environment, and it’s never like a lecture. It’s more like an open discussion while you are taking in the view. This hour-long tour is perfect for couples, families, or anyone looking for a mindful connection with nature. And, it’s low-impact and sustainable, so you can ride without disturbing the wildlife. It’s an experience where time stops, and you’re left with that elusive feeling of peace that lasts long after the ride.

4. Photography and Wildlife Observation
The park’s varied habitats and rich fauna render it a paradise for photographers and bird lovers. The mornings and evenings with early sunrises and late sunsets provide the ideal lighting and high animal movement, which are the best times for capturing the spirit of the mangrove ecosystem.
5. Boardwalk Experience
Jubail Mangrove Park’s boardwalk takes us into another world, where silence is louder than sounds. The wooden 2-km path lazily snakes through a dense, green mangrove forest. Flat and easy to walk on, it can be walked by children or older guests, providing that elusive opportunity to unplug completely. The air is filled with the scent of damp soil and saltwater, and the still water reflects the trees so perfectly it’s as if you’re strolling through a painting.

As you go along, small signboards tell you just enough about the ecosystem to help you marvel at the magic without it feeling like science class. Whether you’re out for a peaceful morning, an evening stroll, or simply need a break from city living, the boardwalk is centering. It’s not just a walk—a gentle reminder of how pleasant simplicity is.
6. Sunrise Yoga
