Performance of Dubai Tourism Sector (January to August 2025)
The latest figures related to the performance of Dubai Tourism Sector in the first eight months of 2025 have been released and things could not have been better. Compared to the same period last year, the Emirate noted a 5% rise in the number of international visitors at 12.54 million, 4% hike in hotel room bookings at 29 million room nights and 2% rise in the average occupancy rate at 78.5%. Isn’t it so remarkable?
Last year, Dubai noted a record 18.72 million international overnight visitors, reflecting the city’s appeal as one of the most dynamic tourist destinations globally. It appears Dubai is on the right track to note much better numbers as the city continues to enhance its offerings.
The year is about to end and some of the bigger celebrations are just getting started. Just earlier this month, the Dubai Fountain adjacent to Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall reopened after being closed for months for major upgrades. The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF 2025) is starting on December 5 until January 11. On top of it, Dubai Fitness Challenge is returning, bringing along some of the best things to do in Dubai, such as Dubai Run, Dubai Ride, Dubai Yoga and more.
Dubai hotel room bookings set to rise amid major incentive release: Relevant for international tourists?
In a stunning update, Dubai has just announced that hotel establishments in certain areas of the Emirate, such as Dubai South, Dubai Parks and Dubai Islands, are going to be reimbursed 100% of the Dubai Municipality Fee on room sales and the Tourism Dirham for a couple of years after opening. This incentive is only for hotels registered after the introduction of the resolution, as per a report by Khaleej Times.
Is this related to tourists? Of course. This update hints at one big thing: Dubai is preparing itself for a significant tourist influx in the near future. The Emirate is making sure that all the necessary facilities are up to the mark to handle the expected rise in tourist numbers.
Is Dubai Tourism Sector going to break its record? There is a big chance of it happening. Nonetheless, the upcoming season in Dubai is bound to be more magical than before. You can see a number of Christmas Tree Lighting in Dubai, be part of incredible NYE celebrations, explore Global Village Dubai and take beautiful pictures against a Dubai Fountain backdrop, among other offerings. Put Dubai on your bucket list, if not already.
