The Middle East’s First Overwater Villas, Three Lagoons, and Seven Dining Venues on the Eastern Crescent of Palm Jumeirah

Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is one of the most acclaimed and distinctive luxury resorts in the UAE, a Thai-inspired beachfront sanctuary sitting on the eastern crescent of Palm Jumeirah along 400 metres of private shoreline with sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf. A TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice winner ranking among the Top 10 Family Hotels in Dubai, the resort holds a rare distinction as home to the Middle East’s first ever overwater villas, a category of accommodation that was previously available only in the Maldives and parts of Southeast Asia before Anantara introduced it here.

The moment guests step into the lobby, the city falls away entirely, replaced by Oriental floral scents, soothing ambient music, lush tropical planting, and the Thai-inflected warmth of Minor Hotels’ signature hospitality, which has made Anantara one of the world’s most respected luxury resort brands.

The resort has 293 individually decorated rooms and villas, complemented by Anantara Residences in an adjacent North and South Tower offering studio, one, and two-bedroom serviced apartments for longer stays. Rooms are grouped in private clusters around three temperature-controlled swimming lagoons in distinctly Thai-style low-rise buildings, with large French windows opening onto private balconies or terraces overlooking the lagoon waters, gardens, beach, or the Arabian Gulf beyond.

The colour palette across all accommodation is calm and sophisticated, with whites, earth tones, dark carved woodwork, and wide-plank timber floors creating a resort atmosphere that feels genuinely removed from the pace of the city. Premier Lagoon View Rooms span 505 to nearly 700 square feet and sit directly adjacent to the shimmering lagoons, with some offering direct swimming access that allows guests to step from their terrace into the water. One Bedroom Beach Pool Villas at 914 square feet come with a personal infinity pool, private beach access, and dedicated villa host service delivering concierge support directly to the accommodation.

The One Bedroom Overwater Villas are the most unique offering in the property, perched over the Arabian Gulf with a glass viewing panel in the floor revealing underwater glimpses of the sea below, available for a maximum of three adults or two adults and two children. The Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villa at 2,241 square feet provides the most expansive beachfront option, ideal for families and groups of up to six guests, with twin bedrooms, separate living room, and direct pool and beach access. All rooms and villas include individual climate-controlled air conditioning, iron and ironing board, luxurious bedding including down comforters and cotton-rich linens, personal safe, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, interactive 40-inch LCD television with DVD player and 118 channels, iPod docking station, complimentary Wi-Fi, rain shower, bathtub, bathrobe, hairdryer, and make-up mirror. One child up to age 12 stays free in the parent’s room using existing beds. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out at 11am. Pets are not permitted.

The resort has seven restaurants and bars, each offering a genuinely distinct dining identity. Mekong is the resort’s signature Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese Asian restaurant, one of Dubai’s most celebrated addresses for Southeast Asian cuisine, with vibrant, expressive dishes prepared in an open kitchen and paired with a strong drinks selection. Bushman’s Restaurant and Bar is the resort’s Australian-inspired venue serving grills, sharing plates, and Australian wines in a lively setting.

The Beach House is the main all-day dining restaurant sitting directly by the shore, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with sweeping sea views, and an extensive menu covering vegan, gluten-free, and halal options with dishes prepared fresh daily. Crescendo serves the morning breakfast buffet and is praised by guests for its freshness and variety. Mai Bar is the resort’s main bar, a lively social hub with ocean views ideal for cocktails and evening drinks. The Lotus Lounge is the evening entertainment venue, known for its vibrant atmosphere and regular live entertainment.

Revo Café is the casual coffee and refreshments outlet for lighter visits. Dining by Design is the resort’s private dining concept, offering a fully customisable romantic dinner for two set up on the beach, on a private jetty, or directly on a villa deck under the stars, one of the most intimate dining experiences available anywhere on Palm Jumeirah and best booked weeks in advance for popular occasions such as Valentine’s Day.

Anantara Spa is one of the most comprehensive resort spas in Dubai, with 24 luxurious treatment rooms, two Turkish hammam sanctuaries catering to both men and women, and a full thermal wellness circuit including an aroma steam room, crystal and gemstone steam room, salt inhalation room, herbal bath, bamboo sauna, Kneipp walk, liquid sound pool, and an ice grotto. The spa also offers the latest non-invasive cosmetic procedures alongside traditional Thai massages, body scrubs, aromatherapy, and tailored wellness programmes. Spa treatments start from AED 450.

The 50-metre infinity pool is one of the most photographed amenities in the resort, flanked by the private beach and the Arabian Gulf shoreline. Three temperature-controlled lagoon pools with Jacuzzis are also available for guests throughout the day and evening. Two floodlit tennis courts and padel courts are on the property, and a 24-hour fitness centre is fully equipped for cardio and strength training.

A water sports centre at the beach offers an extensive range of activities including water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, banana boat rides, paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, diving, boat cruises, fishing trips, and beach volleyball. A long-tail boat experience, unique to Anantara, takes guests on a traditional Thai wooden boat cruise along the Palm Jumeirah coastline.

The Tuk-Tuk Kids’ Club caters to children aged 4 to 12 with a full calendar of supervised activities, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures. The Chill Teens’ Club is a dedicated social space for older children and teenagers. A children’s playground and babysitting services on request ensure the resort is well equipped for all ages.

The resort has a full business centre, limo and town car service, and a variety of event and meeting spaces from contemporary ballrooms with Arabian Gulf views to high-tech boardrooms overlooking the resort gardens, suitable for private celebrations, weddings, corporate meetings, and social events. A dive shop is available for certified diving guests. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available at an additional charge, free valet parking is on site, and laundry and dry-cleaning services are offered. A newsstand and business centre complete the guest services offering.

The resort is located on the eastern crescent of Palm Jumeirah, one kilometre from Sheikh Zayed Road. Atlantis The Palm is around 3.2 km away, Aquaventure Waterpark is within a short drive, and The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah is nearby. Dubai Marina is approximately 4.6 km away, and Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa are about 20 to 25 minutes by car. Dubai International Airport is approximately 30 minutes away, and Al Maktoum International Airport is around 35 minutes by road.
