The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has undertaken a substantial project to upgrade 16 bus stations and 6 bus depots within a three-year timeframe. This extensive initiative encompasses upgrading building infrastructure, installing comprehensive passenger facilities, waiting terminals, driver service offices, bus parking areas and engine maintenance workshops.
The primary aim is to introduce an integrated service approach that significantly enhances the quality of public transportation services across Dubai.

Dubai’s RTA finalized the construction of numerous strategically positioned public bus stations across vital areas, highlighting the integration of transport standards to boost city connectivity in 2021.
These stations ensure secure access for residents to major transit centers, giving precedence to pedestrian and cyclist ease of access, and striving to foster inclusivity. Incorporating amenities such as public bus parking, dedicated cycling lanes, and pedestrian crossings, the RTA actively encourages walking and the utilization of individual mobility choices.
