What Makes the Opening of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Special?
The UAE is quite famous among locals and tourists alike for its museums. Despite being one of the most modern destinations out there, this country takes the concept of history and culture really seriously – and this aspect of the UAE stands out for many of us, right? Once open from 11 December 2026, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is going to become another important piece of attraction to explore in the UAE capital, bringing together modern and contemporary art in a seamless format. It has been said that the museum’s art collection is uniquely local and global, centred in the region but also having significant touches from across the globe.
You are not going to find any room for disappointment. Besides its collection, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s architecture should also be taken into consideration. Designed by the super talented Frank Gehry, this museum is built to impress at all levels. You can expect a memorable experience outside and an immersive experience inside. There are 30 galleries at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi that unfold across the interior, connected by a central atrium and ten sculptural cones. Sounds quite interesting so far? There is more, of course! Nine of the cones are clad in stainless steel mesh and one in onyx and glass.

What Makes Saadiyat Cultural District Special?
This is not the right question. The correct one is: What does not make Saadiyat Cultural District special? Nothing actually. Considered one of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi all year round, Saadiyat Island is home to plenty of experiences suitable for people of all ages and preferences. You can take a leisurely stroll across the Abrahamic Family House, understand art but in a seemingly sophisticated manner at Louvre Abu Dhabi, take a trip to the dinosaur era and further at Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, and understand the place you are travelling to at Zayed National Museum. Basically, call it a collection of all great things.
Once open from 11 December 2026, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is going to add another star to the list of best attractions on Saadiyat Island. You can easily connect to culture and art from the 1960s to the present. Get ready to have better perspectives on modern and contemporary art. Understand pieces and their creators, expanding from local to global. Once open, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is going to become one of the best museums in the UAE. You can definitely expect this place to have a strong pull factor. But it is quite easy to access, too. Take the bus, use RTA taxis, or go for ride-hailing platforms like Careem and Uber.
