The UAE airspace is back to normalcy. On 2 May 2026, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed the full resumption of normal air navigation operations across the airspace. This means that airlines based both in the country and abroad are going to soon resume their UAE flight operations to levels seen earlier this year. Please be assured that this decision has been taken only after careful consideration and examination.
The UAE takes the safety of its residents and tourists really seriously. Things are gradually getting back to normal. Flight operations are going to pick up speed as GCAA has also announced the official lifting of the temporary precautionary measures earlier in place. Simultaneously, UAE authorities continue real-time monitoring of the airspace to ensure the highest levels of safety for all people in the country.

UAE Airspace Back to Normal: What it Means for Tourists
Something incredible, of course. Late in February, the UAE airspace had to take a serious impact because of the Middle East crisis. Though many other countries faced similar troubles, the UAE has been quite proficient in handling the situation. Many stranded tourists received complimentary stays at hotel rooms, food and essential care. The level of personal touch the UAE offered is definitely commendable.
But since the UAE airspace had to remain partially closed, many airlines had to suspend flight operations. But things are back to normal. The airspace is back on its feet and the temporary precautionary measures earlier in place have been lifted. You can expect Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia to soon expand their flight operations back to original levels. Therefore, please do not postpone your UAE travel plans any further.
Just listen to your country’s UAE travel advisories carefully, check your flight status regularly and pay better attention to the airport’s announcements and digital screens. The number of Dubai flights and Abu Dhabi flights to take off and land is going to pick up real soon. By confirming normal air navigation operations across the UAE airspace, GCAA has brought thousands of people planning to travel to Dubai in the near future a big present.
