Etihad has already been operating direct Abu Dhabi to Beijing flights. For example, EY 888 takes off from Zayed International (AUH) at 8:55 pm and lands in the capital of China at 9:05 am the next day. You can complete this journey in 8 hours and 10 minutes. Since Etihad is running a limited flight schedule these days, prioritise early bookings.
Etihad Abu Dhabi to Shanghai Pudong (AUH-PVG)

We're launching five new destinations across mainland China from October 2026 onwards – Shanghai Pudong, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Together with our daily Beijing service, that's 35 weekly flights across six destinations.

Etihad Abu Dhabi to Guangzhou (AUH-CAN)
Guangzhou is considered one of the key manufacturing and trade centres in China. From 4 March 2027, daily Etihad Abu Dhabi to Guangzhou flights are going to take off, facilitating both passenger and cargo traffic.
Etihad Abu Dhabi to Chengdu (AUH-TFU)
Planning a trip to and around Chengdu? This place is expanding fast, thanks to its focus on innovation and technology. From 5 March 2027, Etihad is going to operate regular flights from Zayed International to Chengdu.
Etihad Abu Dhabi to Hangzhou (AUH-HGH)
Etihad is also aiming for a quick establishment of direct air routes from Abu Dhabi to Hangzhou, a leading centre for the digital economy and e-commerce in China. These flights are going to take off from 4 March 2027.
Etihad Abu Dhabi to Shenzhen (AUH-SZX)

Etihad Refund and Rebooking Policies: April 2026 Update
The situation in the Middle East has been changing at short notice. But it is expected that UAE airlines are going to resume their original schedule soon, including Etihad. You can use our Etihad refund and rebooking policies guide for all the latest updates. In a nutshell:
1. Check your Etihad flight status on etihad.com before departing for the airport.
2. Make sure that all your contact details and other personal information are up-to-date. If this is not the case, go to etihad.com/manage and do the needful.
3. Contact your agent for rebooking or refund if you had booked your flights through a travel agency.
4. If you hold an Etihad ticket issued on or before 28 February 2026 for original travel dates from 28 February to 15 April 2026, you can rebook onto Etihad-operated flights for no additional charge up to 15 May 2026. Go to etihad.com/manage for this.
5. Rebooking to Etihad-operated flights after 15 May 2026 may incur an applicable charge.
6. If you are holding an Etihad ticket issued on or before 28 February 2026 for original travel dates from 28 February to 15 April 2026, you can request a refund on etihad.com/manage.
7. The latest Etihad offer also lets you enjoy no flight change fees on your first change. This perk is valid for travel until 31 March 2027, giving you a lot of flexibility and confidence. You can check etihad.com/en-ae/offers for more details.
Earlier this month, Etihad also made an announcement about another expansion. Non-stop Etihad Abu Dhabi to Dhaka flights are going to take off from 26 June 2026.
